In a world that feels increasingly loud and heavy, the natural instinct is to close off.

 We round our shoulders and guard our hearts, carrying the weight of the "storm" in our upper bodies. But true resilience isn't found in shutting down—it’s found in staying open.

Join me for a 3-week online Yin Yoga series designed to unravel the physical and emotional tension of our times. In times of distress, the only way forward is to focus on what we can control: our breath, our bodies, and our capacity for love.

Over three weeks, we will explore:

  • Week 1: Mastering Sama Vritti (Equal Breathing) to steady the nervous system.

  • Week 2: Deep Yin holds to release the chest, shoulders, and upper back.

  • Week 3: Integrating heart-opening poses to cultivate compassion and inner strength.

Details:

  • When: Thursdays 8-9PM ET starting May 14th - 21st -28th.

  • Format: Online (Join from your own space)

  • Focus: Chest and hip opening. Breathing.

  • Price:  3 classes: $42/ $14 per class | Drop ins: $18 class

    Note: 24 hour cancellation from time of purchase. After 24 hours the series is non-refundable or drop-in is non-refundable. What do you need in order to practice these sessions:

2 blocks

1 bolster (or large folded duvet as substitute)

1 strap (a scarf or even belt works as a substitute)

1 Blanket

Comfortable clothes/socks  (layering encouraged, it can get both warm and/or chilly)

Yin yoga is an ideal home practice because it prioritizes the internal experience over physical performance, allowing you to cultivate a "pause button" in your own living space. 

Practicing at home decreases self-consciousness. You are free to wear your pajamas, use your own pillows as props, and explore poses without worrying about how you look. Without the distractions of a traditional group environment, you can focus entirely on your experience and the subtle sensations within your body. 

Open to all level practitioners. Not ideal during pregnancy due to poses on the stomach. If you’re pregnant and would like to join please reach out to me before booking to discuss options: contact@mariahochnowski.com

I’ll be sending out recordings the day after each class so you can revisit the practice as often as you like. Since I sometimes have breaks between series, I want to make sure you have everything you need to keep your practice going on your own schedule. These replays will be available to you all the way until our next series begins!
